Chula Vista
This renovation and addition gave the home a refreshed exterior and a renewed interior that supports the homeowners’ lives today and in the future. A new open-riser stairway rises efficiently above the existing basement stairs, linking all the public living areas and celebrating a refined and welcoming entry sequence. Upstairs, the primary suite addition respects the form and scale of the original structure while opening to sweeping views and a private roof terrace. Together, these changes create a flowing plan of interconnected spaces with clear circulation paths—balancing continuity, efficiency, and delight.
The expanded hydronic radiant system heats the addition. Thick insulation fills the deep cavities of the staggered-stud walls. Windows and skylights fill the home with balanced daylight. Stacked stairs and expanding over existing patio kept the original footprint unchanged.
