DevNW’s Polk St SRO’s will serve young adults emerging from the foster system or at risk of homelessness, providing a safe, comfortable, and beautiful home for the residents, as they transition into fully independent living. The infill project in Eugene’s Whitaker neighborhood, will add to the existing twelve unit apartment building. The new 6000-SF building will include (12) Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units, a site manager’s apartment, and common spaces including: a meeting room; dining room with a full kitchen, a laundry room, and a
shared fl ex space. The new L-shaped, 2-story building works with the existing structure to frame a courtyard with outdoor spaces and elements including an arbor, a pavilion, garden beds, a recreational lawn, a planted raingarden, and secure bike parking.
