Rosa Commons

Aligned Architecture designed the Commons Building, and led the site design team for Rosa Village Co-op, a permanently affordable, resident-owned, community land trust in Eugene, Oregon. The co-op will provide 52 homes using a shared-equity model, building on the lessons learned from SquareOne Villages’ successful Peace Village development.

The Commons Building will serve as the heart of the community, offering shared spaces that foster connection, collaboration, and daily life for residents. Its design prioritizes functionality, durability, and warmth, supporting community meals, gatherings, educational programs, and shared services. Spaces include a gathering/dining space with a warming kitchen, a community laundry room overlooking the interior courtyard, mailboxes, office, conference room and a food pantry.

The site includes bike barns, a pavilion, gathering spaces, pedestrian paths, garden beds, landscaping with native plants and rain gardens.

Through this project, Aligned Architecture reinforces its commitment to supporting local nonprofits and affordable housing initiatives that strengthen our community and provide more opportunities for people to live with dignity.

The project is currently under construction.
